Summary

The Avengers are lost in time — and if they have any hope of stopping Mephisto’s grand plan, they’ll need help from some mighty champions from different eras。 Legends whose stories have never been told…until now! Like the mystical man of war, Sgt。 Szardos, Soldier Supreme of World War II — and his squadron of supernatural grunts, the Secret Invaders! The fabled Ghost Ronin of Japan’s Edo Period — they say he walks by night, wielding a blade forged by hellfire…and where the Samurai of Vengeance wanders, the penance flows, like fountains of blood! And, in the Old West, the legendary Reno Phoenix and the Starbrand Kid! Is that enough to force a showdown with the forces of Mephisto? Or will the Avengers be trapped in the past forever? Featuring the long-awaited return of the Avenging archer, Hawkeye!

4。25Enjoying how Aaron is bringing this storyline together and wrapping up his entire Avengers run。 It's not as good as his Thor run, a high bar。 But I like it overall。 4。25Enjoying how Aaron is bringing this storyline together and wrapping up his entire Avengers run。 It's not as good as his Thor run, a high bar。 But I like it overall。 。。。more

Do you like Exiles? That's what this volume is。 It's Avengers, but Exiles。 It's also remarkably similar to what Aaron's doing over in his other Avengers title, which makes me wonder if he's just playing for time。Each issue included here focuses on a different character from across the Multiverse as the Avengers swoop in to help them on their trip towards the battle at the God Quarry。 They're all decent stories, and they're fun, but they're not what we should be getting from an Avengers book, esp Do you like Exiles? It's not even Aaron writing it, but it's included here for completeness。 (It is written by Mark Russell though, so it's great, even if it's out of place)。The artwork's still awesome too - Javier Garron grabs three issues, while Ivan Fiorelli cuts his teeth on a big time Marvel book for the later two。 Unfortunately, Greg Land draws the AXE issue and drags everyone down with him。If this was a random Avengers mini-series, then sure, I'd rate it higher。 The artwork's nice, but the story just feels like a holding pattern to try and build hype for the big Avengers Assemble story instead of a story we needed to see。 。。。more

The Jason Aaron series that just。。。。keeps。。。。going。。。It's so big that it's split it's Avengers off into another series that will 'tie-in' to this one (plus, there's the one shots of the OG/BC Avengers)。 We don't even really have time for character growth or much in the way of depth。 Valkyrie has a moment。 Hell, Iron Man hasn't recognized the man in the Starktech suit yet (spoilers: It's his Mephisto loving father)。 Can't keep track? Getting confused? Join the rest of us in this weird time travel The Jason Aaron series that just。。。。keeps。。。。going。。。It's so big that it's split it's Avengers off into another series that will 'tie-in' to this one (plus, there's the one shots of the OG/BC Avengers)。 We don't even really have time for character growth or much in the way of depth。 Valkyrie has a moment。 Hell, Iron Man hasn't recognized the man in the Starktech suit yet (spoilers: It's his Mephisto loving father)。 Can't keep track? Getting confused? Join the rest of us in this weird time travel meets alternate realities meets and Exiles/What If? run。 They promise an ending。 When that will happen is up for debate。This story also doesn't really "F" with the Judgment Day crossover。 TECHNICALLY, if they're time traveling, they can just jump back to when they left and。。。。continuity is saved。 Otherwise, this series just spits in the eye of their big studio event。 (Remember, the Avengers are based INSIDE THE DEAD CELESTIAL)。The one thing I have to say about the 'Judgement Day: A。X。E。' crossover is。。。。of COURSE Hawkeye has to prove that his life is more fulfilling than 。。。。a mailbox。 Those big blue metal boxes are pretty amazing。 Probably the most original spin on a 'prove your worth to the Gods' story that I've ever seen。Bonus: Place your bets on how many of these unheard of Avengers 。。。。are never heard about again。 Jason Aaron basically created (as of this collection) a good dozen characters that are from periods in time Marvel seldom goes back too。 It's like the original Avengers Forever story。。only。。。longer。。。。and more convoluted。Bonus Bonus: How sad is it for Agamatto to be Sorcerer Supreme in a time when most of the planet is nonverbal? Can't really have conversations with。。。anyone。 。。。more

De verdad los Avengers no son para Aarón。 El mejor número de este pobre volumen, es el tie in con AXE, y lo escribe Russell。 No se para dónde va esto, pero se alarga demasiado y no provee nada útil。
